Ryder Cup 2016 Singles Picks

The Ryder Cup closes with the singles matches at Hazeltine in Minnesota, giving me a nice alternative to the beginning of the NFL’s “PinkTober”. I’ll jot some picks and see how close I get.

I’m gonna give myself a point for picking the winner and an extra point if I nail the winning margin. This would be easier if there weren’t draws…

  1. Patrick Reed vs. Rory McIlroy
    • Reed, 3&2
  2. Jordan Spieth vs. Henrik Stenson
    • Stenson, 4&3
  3. JB Holmes vs. Thomas Pieters
    • Draw
  4. Rickie Fowler vs. Justin Rose
    • Rose, 5&4
  5. Jimmy Walker vs. Rafa Cabrera Bello
    • Draw
  6. Phil Mickelson vs. Sergio Garcia
    • Mickelson, 2&1
  7. Ryan Moore vs. Lee Westwood
    • Westwood, 2&1
  8. Brandt Snedeker vs. Andy Sullivan
    • Sullivan, 1-up
  9. Dustin Johnson vs. Chris Wood

That’s a Sunday score of USA 5 1/2, Europe 6 1/2, moving the Ryder Cup stateside for just the second time in this century by a total of 15 to 13. That would mean Brooks Koepka’s winning putt on 18 would be the winner. Let’s see how close I was.
